Regis earns all-conference laurel, finishes among NE-10's top base stealers

COLCHESTER, Vt. - Saint Michael's College softball sophomore Brittany Regis (Monroe, N.H./Saint Johnsbury Academy) was one of nine Northeast-10 Conference outfielders named to an all-conference team on Friday, drawing her first career honor by landing on the third team.

In 16 games, Regis batted .294 before suffering a season-ending injury. She scored eight runs and was 10-for-11 on stolen base attempts. Despite missing 22 contests, she still tied for 12th in the NE-10 in swipes, averaging 1.6 steals per game as the lone conference player to average as many as one per contest.

During her eight NE-10 games, Regis hit .417 with a .462 on-base percentage while going a perfect 5-for-5 on the base paths. She had a pair of three-hit games, going 3-for-4 with two steals in her team's twinbill opener with Stonehill College on March 24 before turning in another 3-for-4 effort with a steal in game two against eventual NCAA Tournament selection University of Massachusetts at Lowell on April 3. Out of league play, Regis was 2-for-4 with three runs, an RBI, a double and three steals in the first contest of a doubleheader with Saint Thomas Aquinas College on March 13.

The Purple Knights went 6-32 overall and 4-26 in the league this spring, including knocking off eventual NE-10 Tournament finalist Le Moyne College, 1-0, on April 20.
