  • Softball's Greer Lemnah Earns NE-10 All-Conference Third Team Accolades

    COLCHESTER, Vt. - Saint Michael's College softball freshman Greer Lemnah (Lyndon Center, Vt./Lyndon Institute) completed a successful first season by earning Northeast-10 All-Conference Third Team honors, it was announced on Thursday. Lemnah was recognized in the "utility - non-pitcher" category, as the versatile first-year started all 38 games - at six different positions - for the Purple Knights in 2011, and finished second on the squad in base hits and walks.

    WORCESTER, Mass. - The Saint Michael's College softball team (6-32, 4-24 Northeast-10 Conference) ended its season on Sunday with a pair of losses at league-leading Assumption College. The Purple Knights were blanked in game one, 3-0, and suffered a 6-2 loss in game two. Senior Meghan Colitti (Dover, N.H./Berwick Academy) had a two-run single in the final game of her collegiate career to lead the Purple Knights, who also graduate seniors Kate Condon (Holliston, Mass./Holliston) and Kelly Rose Losi (Milton, Mass./Milton).

Sophomore Stephanie Frank (Essex, Vt./Essex) had two hits in the opener, and pitched a combined 10 innings on the day, taking the complete-game loss in the nightcap. Saint Michael's ends its season on Sunday with a 12 p.m. doubleheader at Assumption College.

    COLCHESTER, Vt. – Senior Kelly Rose Losi (Milton, Mass./Milton) singled home the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning to rally the Saint Michael’s College softball team (5-25, 3-17 Northeast-10 Conference) past Southern Connecticut State University, 4-3, in game two of a doubleheader on Friday at Doc Jacobs Field. In game one, Southern Connecticut (20-15, 13-7 NE-10) earned a 10-2 win. Saint Michael’s final two home games of the season, versus the University of New Haven, have been postponed for Saturday. They are rescheduled for Monday with game one starting at 3 p.m.
