    COLCHESTER, Vt. - Saint Michael's College senior Meagan Newland (East Burke, Vt./Lyndon Institute) and juniors Casey Brooks (Colchester, Vt./Colchester) and Meggan Roberge (Sheldon Springs, Vt./Missisquoi Valley Union) were named to the Northeast-10 Conference Softball All-Academic First Team on Monday, while senior Elizabeth Pigeon (Saint Albans, Vt./BFA-Saint Albans) earned Second Team honors.

    COLCHESTER, Vt. – Saint Michael’s College ended the season with a doubleheader split versus Merrimack College in Northeast-10 Conference softball action on Tuesday at Doc Jacobs Field. In the opener, the Purple Knights recorded an 8-7 win in eight innings, and in game two, Merrimack (17-27, 13-13 NE-10) blanked Saint Michael’s, 9-0. Saint Michael’s ends its season with an 18-24 record (12-16 NE-10), finishing with the third-most victories in a season in program history.

The Setters scored in their last at-bats in the first game to give them a 2-1 win, while also winning the second game, 6-1. Pace improves to 7-7 overall and 3-1 in the NE-10. Saint Michael’s drops to 5-11 overall and 1-3 in conference play.
