Men's tennis senior Cieplicki recognized on NE-10 Weekly Honor Roll

COLCHESTER, Vt. - Saint Michael's College men's tennis senior Sam Cieplicki (South Burlington, Vt./New Hampton School) was named to the Northeast-10 Conference Weekly Honor Roll for the week ending on Sunday, April 8. He becomes the third Purple Knight to land on the honor roll this school year.

Cieplicki won his team's fifth and deciding match against Saint Anselm College on Wednesday, rallying for a 1-6, 6-3, 6-0 triumph at No. 3 singles. The Purple Knights picked up a 5-4 win, themselves rallying from a 2-1 deficit after doubles. In his second season of college tennis, the captain is 4-5 in singles play, appearing solely in the second and third positions.

Saint Michael's stands 5-4 overall and 4-4 in the NE-10 heading into today's match with defending league tournament runner-up Southern New Hampshire University, which is regionally ranked. Including the Penmen, the Purple Knights have three opponents remaining this week as they make a push to qualify for the NE-10 Tournament.
