COLCHESTER, Vt. - The fourth-seeded Saint Michael's College men's tennis team (9-7) won two of three doubles matches and held off fifth-seeded Bentley College, 5-3, in a Northeast-10 Conference Quarterfinal contest on Saint Michael's outdoor courts.
Junior Sean Steigerwald (North Andover, Mass./North Andover) earned victories in both #2 singles and #2 doubles to lead the Purple Knights, who visit top-seeded Bryant University in the NE-10 Semifinals on Thursday at 3 p.m. Sophomore Craig Lindabery (Washington, N.J./Warren Hills Regional) also won twice, teaming with Steigerwald for an 8-4 win in #2 doubles, and also picking up a victory at #3 singles.
Bentley finishes the season with a 6-11 record.
