Kevin Lizzo
third season

Kevin Lizzo, a former two-year captain and four-year member of the Saint Michael's College men's tennis team, enters his third season at the helm of the Purple Knights in 2007-08. He was named the sixth head coach in program history on August 25, 2005.

A native of New Rochelle, N.Y. who now lives in Burlington, Vt., Lizzo had led the Purple Knights to a 14-20 record in his first two seasons. The eight wins that Saint Michael's compiled in 2006-07 are the most for the program since 2001-02.

Lizzo has worked as a tennis professional at Twin Oaks Sports and Fitness in South Burlington since 2002, and in 2005 also served as a pro at the Burlington Tennis Club. Lizzo spent five summers (2000-04) as a tennis pro at the Quarry Hill Club in South Burlington, and has worked the past three seasons as the varsity assistant coach and junior varsity head coach at Burlington High School. He has also served as a tennis instructor in his hometown, working at both the New Rochelle Racquet Club and the Beckwith Pointe Country Club.

Most recently, Lizzo competed in the 21st annual Jeff Stone Memorial Tournament, a prestigious 20-player event featuring former ATP players held August 19-21, 2006, at the Burlington Tennis Club.

A four-year member of the Purple Knights from 1999-2002, Lizzo guided Saint Michael's to Northeast-10 Conference tournament appearances all four years while playing for former head coaches Robert Fleming and Steve LaTulippe. Lizzo competed primarily in No. 3 singles and No. 1 doubles during his career, and served as the squad's captain as a junior and co-captain as a senior. He graduated with a bachelor of science degree in business administration.
