ALBANY, N.Y. - The Saint Michael's College men's soccer team (4-0-0, 1-0-0 Northeast-10 Conference) maintained its perfect record on Saturday, and pitched its third shutout of the season, with a 3-0 win at The College of Saint Rose in the league opener for both teams on Saturday.
For Saint Michael's, junior Rondel Ward (Saint George, Barbados/Harrison College) headed in a pair of goals, while classmate Ryan Gannon (Colchester, Conn./Bacon Academy) also scored. Senior Jared Berry (Barrington, R.I./Barrington) added his third and fourth assists of the season in the win, while fellow senior Jason Burnett (South Burlington, Vt./Pendelton School/IMG Academy) stopped five shots to earn his third shutout of the season.
Saint Michael's recorded just four shots in the contest, but all three of its shots on goal found the back of the net.
Saint Michael's returns to action on Tuesday with a 4 p.m. contest at in-state rival Johnson State College.
