COLCHESTER, Vt. - Three Saint Michael's College men's soccer players were named to the College Sports Information Director's of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Team, it was announced on Thursday. Seniors Brandon Beaudoin (Newburyport, Mass./Newburyport) and Tim Williamson (Wakefield, R.I./Barrington) earned First Team accolades, while classmate Matt Healy (Gilmanton, N.H./Gilford) garnered Third Team honors.
Beaudoin and Williamson are now eligible for the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team, which will be released later this month.
Beaudoin, who became the first player in program history to earn First Team Academic All-American honors, helped anchor a Purple Knights' defense that allowed just 14 goals in 19 games this season. Beaudoin entered this year with a 3.83 Grade Point Average in biology, and started the first 17 games of the season before suffering a season-ending injury.
Williamson, who also earned First Team Academic All-District honors last season, is among the nation's leaders with an .856 save percentage and a 0.78 goals against average. He finished the season with an 8-5-3 record in 16 starts in goal, and compiled six shutouts. He currently has a 3.81 GPA in business administration.
Healy, the captain for Saint Michael's the last two seasons, started all but one game as a midfielder this season. An information systems major with a 3.54 GPA, Healy was named to the Northeast-10 Conference All-Academic First Team this fall, and appeared in 74 of a possible 75 collegiate contests.
