COLCHESTER, Vt. - Saint Michael's College men's lacrosse junior Matt Hanley (Plainview, N.Y./Bethpage) was named to the Northeast-10 Conference Weekly Honor Roll for the week ending on Sunday, April 30.
Hanley turned in an 8.50 goals-against average and a .605 save percentage with 13.0 saves per game, six ground balls and one caused turnover during a pair of one-goal losses last week. In a 10-9 loss at Bentley University, which was receiving national votes, on Tuesday, he made 17 saves with three ground balls and one caused turnover before posting nine stops and three ground balls in a 7-6 loss to The College of Saint Rose on Saturday.
The Purple Knights' starter in all 12 games this season, Hanley registered 146 saves and a .545 save percentage while appearing for all but 72:44. With his team's campaign complete, Hanley is third in the NE10 in saves per game (12.2) while standing sixth in saves and save percentage. The 27 saves he registered against No. 8 Adelphi University on March 25 remain the most by an NE10 netminder in the past 11 years, and are tied for fourth across NCAA Division II this season. Hanley notched at least 13 saves six times.
