Men's lacrosse duo earns NE-10 academic all-league, Hunt lauded for second time

COLCHESTER, Vt. - Recent Saint Michael's College men's lacrosse graduates Garrett Clark (Hingham, Mass./Hingham) and Kevin Hunt (Johnstown, N.Y./Johnstown) were two of 96 student-athletes across nine sports selected for a Northeast-10 Conference Academic All-Conference honor for the spring athletic season.

Hunt earned the accolade for the second straight year, while Clark was lauded for the first time. The duo was among 10 men's lacrosse players around the NE-10 to draw recognition and added to their previous academic honors, as Hunt has qualified for the NE-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll six times, and Clark on five occasions. This marks the third straight year at least one Purple Knight has landed NE-10 Academic All-Conference honors.

Clark appeared in 12 contests on defense, finishing with career highs of eight ground balls and seven caused turnovers. He aided a squad that set a school record with 11 wins and a 6.12 goals-against average this spring. Hunt started all 16 games on the Purple Knight attack, tallying career highs of 17 goals and 17 assists. In 58 career appearances, he totaled 85 points. Hunt will return to the program as an assistant coach next school year.

The NE-10 Academic All-Conference teams are chosen by a vote of a committee of athletic administrators and Faculty Athletic Representatives (FAR). To be eligible for selection to the academic all-conference teams, a student-athlete must have met and/or exceeded the following minimum requirements: 1) participated in at least half of the team's competitions and be either a starter or significant contributor; 2) achieved a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average; and 3) completed at least one academic year at their current institution.
