COLCHESTER, Vt. - The fourth-seeded Saint Michael's College men's lacrosse team (7-6, 5-4 Northeast-10 Conference) will look for their second home win versus Saint Anselm College in the past week when the Purple Knights host the fifth-seeded Hawks in the NE-10 Quarterfinals on Tuesday at 4 p.m. on Duffy Field at Doc Jacobs Complex.
Tickets for Tuesday's contest are $6 for adults, and $3 for students (with valid identification), seniors age 65 and over, and children age 12 and under. The gates to Duffy Field will open at 3 p.m.
Saint Michael's has won its last two contests to close the regular season, including a 9-7 win versus Saint Anselm last Wednesday. The Purple Knights feature a balanced attack, led by senior Bryan Zaremba (Manhasset, N.Y./Manhasset), who has a team-best 25 points, and junior Charlie Niznansky (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield-Ludlowe), who has a team-high 21 goals.
Saint Anselm (7-6, 5-4 NE-10) is led by senior Chris Murphy (Winchester, Mass.), an NE-10 All-Conference First Team selection this season. Two other Hawks garnered Second Team honors, announced earlier today. The Hawks lost the tiebreaker with Saint Michael's for the final home playoff spot due to their loss to the Purple Knights last week.
The winner of Tuesday's game will visit top-ranked and undefeated Le Moyne College in the NE-10 Semifinals on Friday. Saint Michael's is seeking their fourth straight appearance in the NE-10 Semifinals.
