COLCHESTER, Vt.- As one of two teams to host a conference quarterfinal contest, the #4 Saint Michael's College men's lacrosse team (7-6, 6-4 NE-10) looks to make their third straight trip to the conference semifinals in their fourth straight post-season bid against #5 Saint Anselm (8-6, 6-4 NE-10) on Tuesday at 4 p.m. on Duffy Field at Doc Jacobs Complex. On March 15, the Hawks and Purple Knights fought through overtime before senior captain Mike Boerma (Concord, Mass./Lawrence Acad.) scored the game-winner with 59 seconds left to lift Saint Michael's, 11-10 in Manchester, New Hampshire. The winner of the #4/#5 match up will play reigning national champion #1 Le Moyne (13-0, 10-0 NE-10) in the semifinals on Friday, May 2 in Syracuse, New York--a team Saint Michael's has fallen to in back-to-back semifinals.
In the other quarterfinal match up on Tuesday, #3 Merrimack (8-6, 6-4 NE-10) will host #6 Bentley (7-6, 5-5 NE-10) in North Andover, Massachusetts for the right to play at #2 Bryant (12-3, 9-1 NE-10) on Friday, May 2 in Smithfield, Rhode Island.
Gates for this men's lacrosse Northeast-10 Conference event will open at 3 p.m. on Tuesday. Adults will admitted for $5, seniors for $3 and Saint Michael's students with valid identification will be admitted free of charge, thanks to the Saint Michael's College Student Association. Individuals with Northeast-10 Conference credentials will also be admitted free of charge.
Please be advised that there are no dogs allowed on Doc Jacobs Field.
