COLCHESTER, Vt. - Saint Michael's College men's ice hockey sophomore Dave Donzanti (West Chester, Pa./Northfield Mount Hermon) landed on the Northeast-10 Conference Weekly Honor Roll for the week ending on Sunday, Dec. 2. It was the second consecutive accolade for Donzanti, who earned the NE-10 Goalie of the Week citation last Tuesday.
Donzanti limited a high-powered Skidmore College offense to one goal while making 20 saves in a 1-0 loss on Saturday. The Thoroughbreds entered the game averaging 4.0 goals, good for third in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) East, and had even netted three goals on No. 2 Norwich University the previous evening. Donzanti yielded just a goal with 34 seconds remaining in the first period during his second college game.
In two contests this season, Donzanti has posted a 0.51 goals-against average and a .973 save percentage, yielding just one goal in 118:39 of action. Aside from Skidmore, Donzanti faced the State University of New York at Canton on Nov. 20, shutting out a team that averaged 2.7 goals entering that contest.
The Purple Knights carry a 2-7 overall mark, having gone 2-6 in the ECAC East and 0-1 in the NE-10, though the ledger includes a trio of one-goal losses thus far. Saint Michael's completes its first-semester slate by beginning a stretch of three straight NE-10 contests on Saturday at Stonehill College at 4:10 p.m.
