COLCHESTER, Vt. - Saint Michael's College men's ice hockey junior Reave MacKinnon (Winnipeg, Man./Winnipeg Saints) was named the Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Week and received Eastern College Athletic Conference East Honor Roll accolades, it was announced on Monday.
MacKinnon became the first Purple Knight in nearly 11 years to score four goals in one game, leading Saint Michael's to a 6-4 win at Franklin Pierce University on Saturday. MacKinnon scored the first goal of the game, a power-play goal, the game-winning goal, and an empty net goal with one second left to seal the win versus the Ravens, becoming the first four-goal scorer since Jeremy Coccaro '02 netted five goals in a 9-4 win against Suffolk University on January 22, 2000.
MacKinnon also had an assist against Franklin Pierce, and an assist against third-ranked Norwich University on Tuesday, giving him six points for the week. MacKinnon is tied for second in the NE-10 with seven goals this season, and tied for third with 12 points.
Saint Michael's (4-3-0, 2-0-0 NE-10, 2-3-0 ECAC East) next plays on December 28, hosting the U.S. National University Team in a 7 p.m. exhibition game at Cairns Arena in South Burlington.
