Men's Ice Hockey Picked Second In NE-10 Poll, Ninth In ECAC East Poll


COLCHESTER, Vt. - The Saint Michael's College men's ice hockey team is predicted to finish in second place in the Northeast-10 Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll, and ninth in the ECAC East Preseason Coaches' Poll, it was recently announced.

Saint Michael's, the two-time defending NE-10 Tournament Champions and led by third-year head coach Chris Davidson, earned two first-place votes in the NE-10 poll. The Purple Knights finished three points behind first-place Saint Anselm College, who earned the other four first-place points and 24 points.

The Purple Knights garnered 24 points in the ECAC East poll, eight points back of eighth-place University of Massachusetts Boston, and 12 points ahead of 10th-place University of New England.

Saint Michael's opens the 2009-10 season on Friday, November 20 with a 7 p.m. contest at the University of Southern Maine.
