Cambronne earns first collegiate accolade, lands on NE-10 Weekly Honor Roll

COLCHESTER, Vt. - Saint Michael's College men's basketball sophomore James Cambronne (De Bary, Fla./The Winchendon School) was named to the Northeast-10 Conference Weekly Honor Roll for the week ending on Sunday, Dec. 17, earning the first league accolade of his career.

Cambronne netted a game-high-tying 17 points in addition to totaling eight rebounds, two blocks and an assist in 27 minutes off the bench in a 52-51 overtime win at Molloy College on Sunday. Cambronne, who shot 8-of-17, scored 13 of his points after halftime, including five in overtime. His three-pointer with 18.9 seconds remaining gave the Purple Knights a lead before a teammate hit a winning three at the buzzer.

Despite coming off the bench in all eight contests this winter, Cambronne leads the squad in scoring (11.0) and blocks (16) while placing second in shooting (42.0%) and three-point percentage (42.9%), and third in rebounding (5.6). He is one of only two players in the league to average at least 10.0 points solely in a reserve capacity, and the only one to be leading his team in scoring. While standing third in the NE-10 in blocks per game (2.0), Cambronne has 58 career rejections, leaving him just 11 short of joining the program's career top 10.

At 3-5 overall and 1-5 in the league, Saint Michael's hosts non-conference foe Caldwell College on Dec. 30 at 1 p.m.
