Men's Golf Returns to Action for First Time in Six Months, Fifth After Day One

SUTTON, Mass. - The Saint Michael's College men's golf team returned to the links for the first time in nearly six months on Saturday during the opening day of the two-day Assumption College Spring Invitational at the Blackstone National Golf Club. The Purple Knights are fifth among six schools.

TEAM RESULTS

  • With 333 strokes through day one, the Purple Knights are five short of Chestnut Hill (Pa.) College for fourth in a six-team field.
  • Each of the top three teams in the meet are ranked in the latest NCAA East Region poll: first-place Franklin Pierce University (No. 2), second-place Post University (No. 8) and third-place Assumption (No. 4).
  • The tournament is the Purple Knights' first since Oct. 19-20.
