Johnson Ties for Fourth, Men's Golf Takes Sixth Among 12 at Le Moyne Invite

MANLIUS, N.Y. - Junior Matt Johnson (Sudbury, Mass./Lincoln-Sudbury Regional) tied for fourth place among 74 competitors, helping the Saint Michael's College men's golf team take sixth out of 12 schools when the two-day Le Moyne College Fall Invitational concluded on Saturday at the Cavalry Club. The meet was the final outing of the fall portion of the 2018-19 season for the Purple Knights.

TEAM RESULTS

  • By carding a 302-307--609, Saint Michael's was sixth among 12 schools, trailing Canadian school Université Laval and four 2018 NCAA Championship qualifiers in Concordia (N.Y.) College, Post University, Roberts Wesleyan (N.Y.) College and Southern New Hampshire University.
  • The Purple Knights were four shots better than the host Dolphins, another 2018 NCAA squad.
  • Five of the Purple and Gold's six competitors broke 80 during the second round.
  • Final day of two-day, fall-season-ending meet.
  • Roberts Wesleyan won with 583 strokes.
