Goodwin two strokes shy of leader in final college competition, Purple Knights second

JAFFREY, N.H. - Senior John Goodwin (Wolfeboro, N.H./Kent School) was two strokes off the leader on Thursday at the Franklin Pierce University Spring Invitational at The Shattuck, helping the Saint Michael's College men's golf team finish four strokes behind the Ravens at The Shattuck Golf Course. The Purple Knights took second among three squads with 321 strokes.

Goodwin shot a 76 to take second during his final collegiate competition, while sophomore Steve French (Goffstown, N.H./Goffstown Area) was one stroke behind. Junior Nicholas Angelo (Sutton, Mass./Saint John's) tied for fourth by firing a 78, and classmate Dylan Lavallee (Colchester, Vt./Rice Memorial) rounded out the Purple Knights' top four by tying for seventh at 82.
