BEDFORD, N.H. - The Saint Michael's College golf team recorded an eighth-place finish at the Penmen Invitational, hosted by Southern New Hampshire University, on Sunday and Monday. The meet was held at the Manchester County Club.
Sophomore Jonathan Silver (Montreal, Quebec/Millbrook School) led the Purple Knights with a two-round total of 163 to finish in 21st place. Junior Jonathan Goguen (Ashby, Mass./Saint Bernards) finished one stroke behind Silver to tie for 22nd place. Freshman Mark Mitchell (Wilbraham, Mass./Wilbraham & Monson Academy) shot a two-day total of 166 to tie for 29th place, and fired the best round of the meet for the Purple Knights with a 77 on Monday. Junior Will Crall (Pittsfield, Mass./Saint Joseph Central) also shot a 166 to tie for 29th place, and senior Andrew Deloria (Gansevoort, N.Y./Saratoga Springs) shot a 182 to finish in 40th place.
The golf team completes its season on Oct. 22-23, as the Purple Knight take part in the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association Championship, held in Brewster, Mass.
