Wahrenbrock pushes field hockey's NE-10 academic all-league streak to eight years

COLCHESTER, Vt. - Saint Michael's College field hockey senior Taylor Wahrenbrock (Chapel Hill, N.C./Chapel Hill) was one of 92 student-athletes across seven sports selected for a Northeast-10 Conference Academic All-Conference honor for the fall semester. Wahrenbrock was among 18 field hockey players to earn the accolade, as at least one member of her program has now drawn the laurel for eight straight years.

Wahrenbrock continued to receive honors this postseason, having already been selected to compete in November's National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division II North/South Senior Game after landing on the NE-10 All-Conference second team. She started all 18 games, contributing two goals and four assists. Each of her points came on goals that either gave her team the lead or tied the score, including assisting the overtime game-winner against Adelphi University on Oct. 9. During her career, the midfielder appeared in 68 of a possible 73 games, starting the last 54. Wahrenbrock, who has qualified for the NE-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll four times due to academic excellence, finished her career with eight goals and seven assists.

The NE-10 Academic All-Conference teams are chosen by a vote of a committee of athletic administrators and Faculty Athletic Representatives (FAR). To be eligible for selection to the academic all-conference teams, a student-athlete must have met and/or exceeded the following minimum requirements: 1) participated in at least half of the team's competitions and be either a starter or significant contributor; 2) achieved a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average; and 3) completed at least one academic year at their current institution.
