Koffink, Field Hockey Roll To 7-1 Win At Saint Anselm

MANCHESTER, N.H. - Saint Michael's College field hockey senior co-captain Kaitlin Koffink (Goffstown, N.H./Goffstown Area) scored a career-high three goals just minutes from her hometown, leading the Purple Knights to a convincing 7-1 win at Saint Anselm College on Wednesday.

Saint Michael's also received goals from sophomores Jenny Boudrow (Dedham, Mass./Dedham), Megan Hill (Guilford, Conn./Guilford), and Taylor Wahrenbrock (Chapel Hill, N.C./Chapel Hill), and freshman Julia Heald (Bedford, N.H./Bishop Brady), with all four scoring the first goals of their collegiate career. Junior Natalie Elvidge (Newton, N.J./Newton) added a pair of assists in the win.

Junior Meghan McLaughlin (Cape Elizabeth, Maine/Cape Elizabeth) stopped four shots in net to earn her first collegiate victory. Saint Michael's outshot Saint Anselm 20-6 in the contest, and held a 9-5 edge in penalty corners in the non-conference contest between Northeast-10 Conference rivals.

Kristina Katsikis scored the goal for Saint Anselm (0-1), while Lindsey MacDonald turned aside nine shots.

Saint Michael's (1-2) returns to action on Saturday, as the Purple Knights play their first home game of the season, taking on Assumption College at 3 p.m. on Duffy Field at Doc Jacobs Complex.
