Saint Michael's took the lead with two runs in the sixth, with Kroeger ripping an RBI knock and first-year Anthony Azpeitia (Tampa, Fla./King) coming through with a sacrifice fly.

Senior Andrew Jaehnig's RBI double cut into the lead in the home half, and sophomore Derek Adamson followed with a single, but left fielder Winthrop threw out Jaehnig at the plate trying to tie the game on the play. Robertson's sac fly in the seventh was met by Byrne's solo home run, and the visitors continued to lead by a run, 4-3. Byrne led off the ninth with a walk, but third baseman Moran fielded a sac bunt attempt and cut down the lead runner at second. Allen fanned the next two Greyhound hitters.

Moran was 2-for-5 with a run, an RBI and two doubles in the nightcap, Winthrop was 2-for-5 with a run, and Allen had a hit, a hit-by-pitch, two runs and two RBIs. Allen knocked a two-run single before scoring in the fourth, Azpeitia scored on a wild pitch in the fifth, and the visitors scored five times to go up 9-5 in the sixth. Jackman was plunked with the bases loaded, Maldonado rapped a run-scoring single, and Webber and Moran knocked back-to-back RBI doubles. However, Tralli's tying two-out, two-run double capped a four-run home half, with each run unearned.
