LANTANA, Fla. - The Saint Michael's College baseball team (1-8) ended a challenging Spring Break trip on Saturday with a 14-3 setback to Southern New Hampshire University at the Palm Beach (Fla.) Challenge at the Santaluces Sports Complex.
Freshman Tim McAulliffe (North Reading, Mass./Vermont Academy) had an RBI single in the loss, as did sophomore Michael Robinson (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield Warde). Senior Kevin Wickles (Hatfield, Mass./Suffield Academy) suffered the loss on the mound, as he allowed five runs in the first inning, a deficit too big to overcome.
All nine starters had at least one base hit for SNHU (5-5). The Penmen increased their lead to 9-0 with four runs in the fifth inning.
Saint Michael's returns to action on Wednesday, March 31 with a 3 p.m. home game versus Norwich University on Doc Jacobs Field.
