LANTANA, Fla. - The Saint Michael's College baseball team (1-7) was stifled offensively on Friday, as the Purple Knights suffered a 7-0 loss versus the University of New Haven, and a 3-0 setback against Southern New Hampshire University at the Palm Beach Challenge held at the Santaluces Sports Complex.
Senior Mike Robert (Wellesley, Mass./Wellesley) pitched well in defeat versus UNH, allowing just two earned runs in seven-plus innings of work. The Purple Knights were held to just three hits, with sophomore Chad Estey (New Haven, Vt./Mount Abraham Union) leading the offense with a double.
Against SNHU, Saint Michael's was limited to just two hits. The shutout was Saint Michael's third straight blanking, and fourth shutout loss during its challenging Palm Beach Challenge schedule.
Saint Michael's completes its stay in Florida on Saturday with a 12 p.m. contest versus SNHU.
