Baseball Ends Season With 8-3 Loss At UMass Lowell

One-Run Wins Earns Baseball Sweep Of Lyndon

(Apr 30, 2008) LYNDON CENTER, Vt. – Saint Michael's sophomore Kevin Wickles (Hatfield, Mass./Suffield Acad.) out-dueled Lyndon State’s Matthew Picard (Winooski, VT) for eight innings and came away with a hard-fought 2-1 victory in the opener of a doubleheader played at Skip Pound Field. The right-handed Wickles went the distance to get the win, allowing one run on eight hits while striking out eight and walking six. Picard, a junior lefty, tossed eight innings as well, giving up two earned runs on eight hits while fanning seven and walking two. [more]
