Women's basketball senior guard Megan Olsen has sustained an exceptional level of play in the past month. Olsen has elevated her game and has averaged 15.6 points per game since the winter break, along with 2.8 steals, 3.8 assists, and 4.7 rebounds.
"Megan has always been a steady player for us, but since the break her game has gone to the next level," said assistant coach Shannon Kynoch.
Olsen's explosive play has helped lift the women's basketball team to a new and more competitive level. Olsen provides versatility for the Saint Michael's team, which allows for her to take advantage of any opponent. Because of this, Olsen has the ability to get to the rim, shoot from the perimeter, and post up smaller guards.
Olsen has been referred to by teammates as a weapon, and the way she has been playing definitely shows this. Olsen's near triple-double against Franklin Pierce, with 19 points, nine rebounds, and 10 assists, as well as her monster game of 31 points, five rebounds, and six steals against Saint Rose are just two of Olsen's exceptional stat lines of the past month.
"While she is quiet by nature, her game certainly speaks for itself and the team has really grown as a unit under Megan's leadership," Kynoch said. Olsen has stepped up for this team and has been a key component to the recent success of the women's basketball team.
