Saint Michael's student-athletes share their study-abroad experiences

COLCHESTER, Vt. - A handful of Saint Michael's College student-athletes who studied abroad shared their experiences last semester with the College's Study Abroad Office for the Fall 2012 Study Abroad Newsletter.

Among them were women's lacrosse juniors Alexa Coleman (Boxford, Mass./Masconomet Regional), Beth Cusimano (Essex Junction, Vt./Essex) and Claire Martin (Mattapoisett, Mass./Bishop Stang), softball junior Grace Bonaiuto (Beverly, Mass./Austin Preparatory School), and swimming & diving junior Maddie Craig (Westwood, Mass./Westwood).

Craig, who visited Machu Picchu while studying in Peru, has returned to her team mid-season, while the remaining four have recently begun indoor practices in preparation for their spring seasons. While abroad, Martin even played for a local lacrosse team in Galway, Ireland, with a handful of other Division II and III student-athletes.

In all, 10 student-athletes studied abroad in the fall, and 12 more active members of Saint Michael's Athletic programs are abroad in the spring.
