Student Association Athlete of the Week: Nicole Adach

The Student Association and the Athletic Department are continuing the tradition of recognizing an outstanding student-athlete from the campus community as “Athlete of the Week.” If you'd like to nominate a student-athlete, contact Chris Moskal at

Senior forward Nicole Adach of the women's basketball team has had an exceptional start to the season, being named to the Northeast-10 Conference Weekly Honor Roll the first three weeks of the season and scoring over 20 points in three games. In addition to scoring, Adach also leads the team in rebounding, averaging 6.8 per game.

Elected as a co-captain of this year’s team, Adach is looked to by her teammates as a leader, modeling an impressive work ethic.

“She is the hardest worker on our team day in and day out and holds herself and her teammates to an incredibly high standard," said assistant coach Shannon Kynoch. "She is very respected by her teammates and coaching staff and has been a rock for us in the early part of our season."

“Her clear passion and dedication to the game of basketball is a motivation for the team,” added teammate and fellow senior Rachele Bernache.

The Purple Knights won the first game of their season but have since lost four games, two of which went to overtime.

“There is no doubt in my mind that her drive, focus, and intensity will be a huge factor in getting us back on the road to success,” stated Kynoch.
