COLCHESTER, Vt. - It was a busy week of action for Saint Michael's College athletics. MEN'S BASKETBALL (9-12, 5-12 NE-10)

The men's basketball team opened their week of Northeast-10 conference action on Wednesday at UMass Lowell where they were overcome by the River Hawks, 85-82, in overtime. The Purple Knights had led by 24 points in the second half of the game, but the River Hawks snapped into high gear shortly after and tied the game before the end of regulation time. For the Purple Knights, freshman Travis Warech (Pine Brook, N.J./Montville) led the Purple Knights with 25 points and earned eight rebounds. Warech tallied 12 points and three assists, while Pinckney recorded 10 points, eight rebounds and three assists in the win. The Purple Knights effectively ended their four-game losing skid, while also putting an end to Bentley's 14-game winning streak.
