"Think Pink" At Men's and Women's Basketball This Saturday!

COLCHESTER, Vt. - Come to the Ross Sports Center this Saturday in your best pink garb, as Saint Michael's College athletics will be holding its Winter Pink Zone Day in conjunction with the men's and women's basketball games versus Bentley University. After last season's successful "Think Pink" day, where the Purple Knights were able to raise more than $400, Saint Michael's athletics is hoping to achieve the goal of $1,500 for the 2009-10 academic year.

Each person in attendance at the women's and men's basketball games versus Bentley on Saturday will receive a raffle ticket upon entry that will allow them to be eligible to win a pink basketball autographed by the team. A winner will be drawn at halftime during both games.

Women's lacrosse and field hockey will be selling "Pink Zone" T-shirts during the basketball contests from 1:30-4:30 p.m. The T-shirts are priced at $15, with $5 from each shirt sold going to the Vermont-New Hampshire chapter of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure, an organization that provides funding for breast cancer research.

In addition, the Office of Alumni and Parent Relations and the Saint Michael's Club of Greater Burlington are holding a "Pizza Social" in conjunction with Saturday's basketball doubleheader. The pizza social will take place at 3 p.m., in-between the women's and men's contests, and will take place in the Tarrant Recreation Center's Hall of Fame Room. Tickets for the pizza social are $10 per adult, and $5 for children age 12 and under, and includes tickets for both games, pizza, and soda. For more information on the pizza social, cal 802.654.2953 or email events@smcvt.edu.

The Purple Knight women will tip-off against the Bentley Falcons at 1:30 p.m. with the men's team following up the action at 3:30 p.m. Come out and support your Purple Knights by "thinking pink" at their games.
