Saint Michael's Women's Game Notes Saint Michael's Men's Game Notes

COLCHESTER, Vt. - The Saint Michael's College men's and women's basketball teams continue their drive to the postseason - and possible home playoff game - on Wednesday, as the Purple Knights visit Southern New Hampshire University in a Northeast-10 Conference doubleheader in Manchester, N.H. The women's game tips off at 5:30 p.m., and the men's game at approximately 7:30 p.m.

The Saint Michael's women (12-10, 10-9 NE-10), picked to finish 15th (next-to-last) in the NE-10 Preseason Coaches' Poll, clinched a spot in the NE-10 Tournament with Saturday's 66-40 win versus Stonehill College on "Senior Day" at the Ross Sports Center. The Purple Knights are currently tied with Stonehill for seventh in the league standings with two games remaining, and need to win just two of their final three regular-season contests to ensure the program's first home playoff game since 2006. Saint Michael's can also lock up a home playoff game with a win at SNHU (10-13, 8-11 NE-10) on Wednesday, plus losses by two other teams in action tomorrow evening.

The Saint Michael's men (11-12, 9-10 NE-10) need to win just one of their final three regular-season contests to clinch the program's first postseason berth since 2007. The Purple Knights have won six of their last nine games, and eight of their last 13 contests, as the program has won 11 games for just the second time in the last nine seasons. Saint Michael's is also tied for eighth in the NE-10 standings, and with a strong finish - beginning with Wednesday's game at SNHU (10-13, 6-13 NE-10) - can also earn a home game in the First Round of the NE-10 Tournament.

Saint Michael's swept Southern New Hampshire when the Penmen visited the Ross Sports Center on December 1, as the Purple Knight women earned a 68-49 victory, and the Saint Michael's men a 74-68 win.
