Carla Hesler To Be Inducted Into New Agenda: Northeast Women's Hall Of Fame

COLCHESTER, Vt. - Saint Michael's College field hockey and lacrosse head coach Carla Hesler will be inducted into the New Agenda: Northeast Women's Hall of Fame on Sunday, it was announced earlier this year.

The luncheon and induction ceremony will take place at the Woodland Golf Club in Newton, Mass., on Sunday afternoon, and honors those who have promoted sport for girls and women in New England as a coach, official, and/or advocate.

Each year, new candidates for membership are nominated by current members of the Hall of Fame, which now numbers just under 350. The primary criteria for election to the New Agenda: Northeast Women's Hall of Fame are that the candidate: contributes to girls' and women's sport beyond her professional responsibilities; has participated in activities which promote girls and women in sport; and has been active for at least 15 years. The candidates achievements as an athlete are not a consideration.

Hesler is the all-time winningest coach in Saint Michael's women's lacrosse history, and second-winningest coach in Saint Michael's field hockey history. She has amassed 61 wins in nine seasons as women's lacrosse head coach, including a program-record nine wins in both 2004 and 2008, and is 93-83 as a college lacrosse head coach. She has also compiled a 118-90 record in 11 seasons as Saint Michael's field hockey head coach, just nine wins away from matching the program record, and a 206-193-8 record in 23 years as a field hockey head coach at Colgate University, Yale University, and Saint Michael's.
