HILTON HEAD, S.C. - The Saint Michael's College tennis teams completed their spring break trip to South Carolina on Friday with a split versus the University of Nebraska-Wesleyan. The Saint Michael's women (7-3) edged Nebraska-Wesleyan, 5-4, while the Saint Michael's men (5-4) fell, 7-2.
The Saint Michael's women completed their spring break with a 2-3 record, as the Purple Knights opened the week on Sunday with a 9-0 shutout of George Court University. The Purple Knights also suffered a pair of 5-4 setbacks (too Macalester and Tiffin), along with a 7-2 loss to Tiffin.
The Saint Michael's men finished the week with an 0-4 record. All four of the matches were competitive, as the Purple Knights dropped a 5-4 decision to Macalester, a 6-3 decision to Hobart, and a 7-2 decision to Tiffin.
Both teams return to action on Saturday, March 29, as both squads look to improve upon their perfect 4-0 records in Northeast-10 Conference play versus Stonehill College. The women host the Skyhawks for a 10 a.m. match, while the men visit Stonehill for a noon match.
