COLCHESTER, Vt. - Six Saint Michael's College student-athletes were named to the Northeast-10 Conference weekly honor roll, it was announced on Monday. Among them were a pair of field hockey players, a pair of men's soccer players, and two from the swimming and diving programs.
In field hockey, juniors Andrea Slaven (Danvers, Mass./Bishop Fenwick) and Jordan Smalling (Essex Junction, Vt./Essex) were recognized. Slaven was named to the NE-10 Field Hockey All-Tournament Team, as she scored the overtime game-winner in Wednesday's 2-1 victory at Stonehill College in the Quarterfinals. She added the Purple Knights' lone score in a 2-1 setback to University of Massachusetts Lowell in the Semifinals on Saturday. Smalling, meanwhile, stopped 10 shots in Wednesday's upset victory versus the Skyhawks, and added four saves in Saturday's season-ending loss.
In men's soccer, seniors Yoshikazu Ishii (Tokyo, Japan/Gakushuin) and Tim Williamson (Wakefield, R.I./Barrington) received honors. Ishii netted his first career hat trick, including the game-winner, in Thursday's 4-0 victory versus the College of Saint Rose. Williamson, meanwhile, stopped three shots to earn the win versus the Golden Knights, and added three saves in Sunday's 1-0 loss at Southern Connecticut State University in the NE-10 Quarterfinals.
In swimming and diving, junior Tierney Carey (Newtown, Conn./Newtown) and freshman Aidan Warhall (West Haven, Conn./Notre Dame) garnered recognition. Carey placed third in both the one-meter dive and the three-meter dive at the eight-team Bentley College Invitational on Sunday. Warhall, meanwhile, led the men on Sunday with a third-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly.
