COLCHESTER, Vt. ? Fifty-six Saint Michael's College athletics contests will be broadcast live during the 2007-08 season in an agreement made with ESPN 1390 WCAT, it was announced on Tuesday.
Among the games that will be aired by WCAT include all 27 Purple Knights' men's basketball regular-season games in 2007-08 (including the squad's exhibition contest at the University of Vermont on Nov. 3), all 22 Saint Michael's regular-season Northeast-10 Conference women's basketball games, and seven Purple Knights' men's ice hockey contests, mostly on Friday evenings. The men's basketball exhibition with Vermont will be the first game broadcast through this agreement, and the men's ice hockey broadcast schedule will be finalized this fall. In addition, postseason contests will also be broadcast live.
"This is a great opportunity for Saint Michael's College to not only showcase our athletics programs, but our institution as a whole," said Saint Michael's athletics director Geri Knortz. "This is the first extensive exposure that our women's basketball program has ever had, and I know that the players and staff are excited about having their games broadcast."

Each broadcast is expected to start 15 minutes prior to the scheduled game time. For home contests, Fells will serve on a two-person broadcast crew, and for road games, Fells will work individually, with regular guest commentators.
