COLCHESTER, Vt. - Saint Michael's College junior Greg Lazarus (Evanston, Ill./Evanston) wasnamed the Northeast-10 Conference Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week on Monday, while four other Purple Knights landed on the league's weekly honor roll.
Lazarus tallied 10 goals in a 1-1 week for the men's lacrosse team (5-4, 4-1 NE-10). He netted seven goals, just two shy of the program record, in Saturday's 18-5 win versus Southern New Hampshire University, and added three goals in Wednesday's 11-10 setback to 10th-ranked Adelphi University.
In women's tennis, senior Cailie Burns (Chepachet, R.I./Ponaganset) and junior Megan Conway (Lynnfield, Mass./Lynnfield) garnered honor roll spots. Each posted a victory in singles' action, and partnered for an 8-2 doubles' victory, in Thursday's 8-1 triumph at Franklin Pierce College. The women's tennis team (11-6, 10-1 NE-10) is in a three-way tie for first place with one conference match remaining.
In women's lacrosse, sophomore Brynne Curran (Cape Elizabeth, Maine/Cape Elizabeth) earned an honor roll citation. She scored 11 goals and one assist in a 1-1 week, netting five goals (including the game-winner) and an assist in an 18-13 win against Saint Anselm College on Thursday. She added six goals in a loss at Bryant University on Saturday.
In men's lacrosse, junior Mark Agostinelli (Dedham, Mass./Xaverian Brothers) landed on the honor roll, as he recorded four goals and three assists in the two games last week. His big game was a two-goal (including the game-winner), three-assist outing versus SNHU on Saturday.
