Basketball Squads To Host Pace Saturday On Senior Day


COLCHESTER, Vt. - The Saint Michael's men's and women's basketball teams will host their final regular season home games of 2006-07 on Saturday, as the Purple Knights will take on Northeast-10 Conference rival Pace University at the Ross Sports Center.

The Saint Michael's women (10-14 overall, 7-13 NE-10) will look to snap their season-worst six-game losing skid when the Purple Knights take on Pace (19-6, 14-6) at 1:30 p.m. At 3:30 p.m., the Saint Michael's men (14-11, 11-9) look to clinch a home playoff game, and move one step closer to earning a top-four seed and a first round bye in the NE-10 Tournament, when the Purple Knights battle Pace (18-10, 14-6).

Saint Michael's has seven seniors playing in their final regular season home game on Saturday. On the women's side, Laura Grzewinski (Ashby, Mass./North Middlesex Regional and Dani and Jevy Rayner (Westminster, Vt./Bellows Falls Union) will make their final appearance at the Ross Sports Center. On the men's side, Chris Cayole (Burlington, Vt./Rice Memorial), Ryan Maloney (Chicopee, Mass./Chicopee), Milos Mirkovic (Novi Sad, Serbia/Saint Andrew's School) and Brendan Mullins (Downers Grove, Ill./Downers Grove South) will play their final regular season contest at home.
