Swimming's Hoskins Named NE-10 Men's Freshman Of The Week

COLCHESTER, Vt. - Saint Michael's College swimmer Mike Hoskins (Cumberland, R.I./Cumberland) was named the Northeast-10 Conference Men's Freshman of the Week on Monday, while four other Purple Knights were named to the conference's weekly honor roll.

Hoskins won a pair of individual events in a dual-victory at league-rival Bryant University on Saturday. He won the 500-yard freestyle in 5:22.63, and the 1,650-yard freestyle in 18:44.01.

Two female swimmers landed on the weekly honor roll. Senior Laura Mann (Attleboro, Mass./Bishop Feehan) won two individual events (the 50- and- 100-yard breaststroke) and a relay race (the 200-yard medley relay) at Bryant, while freshman Lindsey Burgess (Westborough, Mass./Westborough) was part of the same winning relay race, while also claiming three individual events (the 50- and- 100-yard butterfly, and the 100-yard freestyle).

In men's basketball, junior Brian Monahan (Kinderhook, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy) earned an honor roll nod. He tallied a game-high 26 points and 19 rebounds in Saturday's 76-75 loss to American International College.

In women's basketball, junior Allison Dunn (Whippany, N.J./Morris Catholic) received an honor roll citation. She tallied a team-best 13 points, along with six rebounds and two assists, in Saturday's 68-57 setback to AIC.
