SIX SAINT MICHAEL'S SPRING ATHLETES SELECTED TO NORTHEAST-10 WEEKLY HONOR ROLL

COLCHESTER, Vt. - Following the first full week of spring sports, six Saint Michael's College student-athletes were named to the Northeast-10 Conference weekly honor roll for the week of March 17. Five men's and women's lacrosse players were among the honorees for their roll in helping the Purple Knights to wins on the road by a margin of one goal.
Three female lacrosse players were honored in a 1-1 week at the Rollins College Invitational. Senior captain Amanda Soule (Hartland, Vt./Woodstock Union) tallied six goals and two assists on the week, including four goals and one assist in the 18-17 win over Rollins College. Classmate Brynne Curran (Cape Elizabeth, Maine/Cape Elizabeth) was recognized for a seven-goal, two-assist week, aiding a Purple Knights comeback win over Rollins with four goals. Junior midfielder Amanda Pelley (Mashpee, Mass./Falmouth) also cracked the honorable mention with six goals and one assist in tournament play. Scoring four goals as well in the Rollins win, Pelley tallied the game-winner late in the second half to cap a Saint Michael's rally from down 12-6.

In men's lacrosse, senior captains Mike Boerma (Concord, Mass./Lawrence Acad.) and Jeff Hannon (Wilbraham, Mass./Minnechaug Reg.) were rewarded for helping Saint Michael's to a 1-1 week on the road. Boerma played the role of hero in a 13-12 double-overtime win over Saint Andrew's with four goals-including the game-winner-and four assists. Boerma also accounted for half of the Purple Knights six goals in a loss to Adelphi. Hannon stopped eight shots in both the 13-12 double overtime win over Saint Andrew's and the 18-6 loss to Adelphi.

In softball, junior pitcher Megan O'Connor (Georgetown, Mass./Georgetown) garnered weekly honors for doing 2-2 on the mound in a 4-3 week. She pitched five innings of one-hit ball in a game with Saint Joseph, while going 2-for-3 at the plate. O'Connor also threw a complete game in game one against Medaille, while belting a double and a triple.
