COLCHESTER, Vt.- Six Saint Michael's fall athletes were named to the weekly Northeast-10 Conference Honor Roll, it was announced on Tuesday. Men's and women's soccer each had two honored while field hockey and cross country each had an athlete of their own receiving honors.

For men's soccer, junior Tim Warren (Rehoboth, Mass./Rehoboth-Dighton Regional) earned a spot on the honor roll with his second and third goals of the year, tying for second on the team in goals scored. He scored the teams only two goals in a 1-0-1 week with the first in a thrilling 1-0 upset of formerly top-seeded UMass-Lowell. The second came in a disappointing 1-1 tie with Stonehill. Senior goalkeeper Tim Williamson (Wakefield, R.I./Barrington) made 13 saves over the week with five in a 1-0 shut out versus UMass Lowell. Williamson also stopped eight shots in the 1-1 tie with Stonehill.

The men are currently sixth in the Northeast-10 standings with four games remaining on the schedule, including one versus top-seeded Franklin Pierce on October 13 in Rindge, N.H. To earn a home playoff spot, the men would have to crack the top four which is still possible at this point.

The team's New England Regional NSCAA/adidas Division-II ranking improved to seventh up from last week's ninth-ranked position, with the win over New England's previously top-seeded UMass-Lowell.

For the women, senior Molly Cole (Dover, N.H./Dover) and freshman Katie Murphy (Woodbridge, Conn./Amity Regional) were named to the honor roll for their performance in two double overtime games. Cole recorded five saves and a shutout and Murphy scored the double overtime game-winner in a 1-0 win over Southern Connecticut. The women currently sit in 10th place and desperately need wins in their last four games in order clinch a playoff spot.

The women earned a New England Regional NSCAA/adidas Division-II ranking, reaching the top ten at ninth on this week's poll.

In field hockey, Andrea Slaven (Danvers, Mass./Bishop Fenwick) received honorable mention for scoring the team's only two goals in a 3-2 loss to Southern Connecticut. With a 4-8 Northeast-10 Conference record, the field hockey team ranks eighth, two spots out of the playoffs. The team splits its last four games on the road and at home with the last two games versus Bentley and Bryant, the second and third seeded teams in the conference, respectively.

To round off the honors, Mary Lynn Denholm (Sparks, Md./Okemo Mountain) earned her spot for finishing 144th out of 299 runners in a time of 20:28 at the New England Cross Country Championships, leading Saint Michael's to 38th place. The next cross country meet takes place at Saint Michael's for the Saint Michael's College Invitational on Friday, October 12 with the women at 3:45 and the men at 4:30.
