COLCHESTER, Vt. - Five Saint Michael's College student-athletes were named to the Northeast-10 Conference weekly honor roll, it was announced on Monday.
In women's lacrosse, senior Kristen Palazzo (Armonk, N.Y./Byram Hills) earned honors. Palazzo totaled five goals and seven assists in two games, including four goals and assists in an 18-2 win over Franklin Pierce College on Wednesday.
In men's lacrosse, Mark Agostinelli (Dedham, Mass./Xaverian) received recognition. In a 1-1 week, the sophomore tallied four goals and added an assist, and will look to play a major role in the team's upcoming playoff match-up with Bentley College later this week.
In women's tennis, senior Heidi Murphy (Norfolk, Mass./King Philip Regional) received an honor roll citation. She went 1-0 in singles and 1-1 in doubles in a 1-1 week. She recorded a 6-2, 6-0 singles win and an 8-4 doubles victory in the Northeast-10 quarterfinals versus Le Moyne, and suffered a doubles loss in the semifinals at Stonehill.
Two softball players earned nominations: Megan O'Connor (Georgetown, Mass./Georgetown) and Meggan Roberge (Sheldon Springs, Vt./Missisquoi Valley). O'Connor allowed no earned runs or walks and just six hits in 13 innings pitched while compiling a 1-1 record, and fanning 12 batters. She pitched a one-hitter with no walks and seven strikeouts in a 1-0 loss at Assumption, and threw a five-hit shutout with five strikeouts versus Saint Rose. She added two hits and a sacrifice at the plate while playing errorless defense. Roberge allowed just two earned runs, two walks and eight hits in 13 innings pitched (1.08 ERA) while compiling a 1-1 record, and striking out 17 batters. She threw a three-hit shutout with 11 strikeouts versus Saint Rose, and added six strikeouts in a complete-game loss at Assumption. She Went 2-for-7 at the plate with a double while playing errorless defense.
