Todd Johnstone-Wright has worked as a professional guide and outdoor pursuit's instructor at Saint Michael's for more than 14 years. A 1996 graduate of the College, he believes that wilderness experiences are a critical component of a liberal arts education.
His career has afforded him the opportunity to trek, climb and paddle throughout North America, South America, Africa and Europe, but he always returns to Northern New England. Todd teaches wilderness medicine, rock/ice/alpine climbing, sea kayaking, whitewater and leadership courses.
Among his many credentials include: Certified American Mountain Guide Association Single Pitch Instructor, American Mountain Guide Association Rock Instructor Course Graduate, and Individual Member of the American Mountain Guide Association.
Other credentials are: American Canoe Association L:4 - Coastal Kayak Open Water Instructor Trainer, American Canoe Association L:4 - Coastal Kayak Open Water Instructor, American Canoe Association L:4 - Whitewater Instructor, and American Canoe Association L:4 - Surf Kayak Instructor.
His other qualifications are: British Canoe Union Coach Level 3 (Sea), British Canoe Union Canoe Safety Assessor, Certified Wilderness EMT, Certified Vermont EMT, SOLO Wilderness Medical Instructor, and AIARE Level 1 Avalanche Training.
