Eben Widlund joined the Saint Michael's Wilderness Program staff as the assistant director in 2006. He is responsible for instructor training, expedition programming and program development.

He has also been teaching wilderness medicine for SOLO Wilderness Medicine and outdoor skills throughout North America for more than 10 years. His credentials include: SOLO Wilderness Medical Instructor, Certified American Mountain Guide Association Top Rope Site Manager, and Individual Member of the American Mountain Guide Association.

Other credentials are: British Canoe Union 3 Star, British Canoe Union Canoe Safety Award, NATO Telemark Instructor Training, SOLO Wilderness EMT, Nationally Registered EMT Basic, AIARE Level 1 Avalanche Training, SOLO Search and Rescue Instructor, Search and Rescue Team Leader, and SMC Alpine Instructor Training.

Widlund graduated from the University of Vermont in 1994.
