Seth Cole '01, a native of Blue Hill, Maine, is in his seventh year as sports information director for Saint Michael's in 2009-10. He handles all publicity and media relations efforts for the College's 21 varsity sports, and is the chair of the Northeast-10 Conference Sports Information Directors. Cole also served as the College's baseball coach from 2006-08.
Cole, a 2001 graduate of Saint Michael's with a bachelor's degree in journalism, returned to his alma mater following a 12-month stint with USA Hockey in Colorado Springs, Colo. He first served USA Hockey as The Brian Fishman Intern before being hired full-time as coordinator of media and public relations.
Prior to joining USA Hockey, Cole spent the 2001-02 school year as an Asa S. Bushnell intern with the Eastern College Athletic Conference in Centerville, Mass.
As an undergraduate, Cole served internships with the Saint Michael's sports information office and with the sports department of the Burlington Free Press. In addition, he also served as sports editor of The Defender, Saint Michael's award-winning student newspaper. A four-year starter at second base for the Purple Knights' varsity baseball team, Cole won the George "Doc" Jacobs Award, given annually to a student who makes an outstanding contribution to the athletic department at Saint Michael's.
