Tom skied in every discipline (downhill, slalom, giant slalom, cross country and ski jumping) as one of the last "skimeisters" during his great career at Saint Michael's, and also was a midfielder on the soccer team and played on the freshman golf team. He was the only multi-sport athlete to earn varsity letters in more than one sport in his graduating class of 1969. As a senior team captain in 1968-69, Kelley won the Eastern Intercollegiate Skiing Association (EISA) Combined Alpine Championship, placing first in the downhill race and fourth in the slalom. A graduate of the Boston College Law School, Kelley has been a member of the Massachusetts Bar since 1974, and has been active in the American Trial Lawyers Association and the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys, where he was elected to the Board of Governors.
