After Charter Hall of Famer Kathy O'Neil '81, Kim Corey was the next great basketball player of the Lady Knight modern era. She was a vital link in continuing the progressive growth of the women's basketball program at SMC. A teammate of Kathy's as a freshman, she finished the season second to her in team scoring. Kim averaged 15.4 points per game that year -- the highest freshman scoring average in Lady Knight history. She maintained a double-figure scoring average in each of her three remaining seasons, and was always among the team's top three in scoring. She became only the second Lady Knight in history to break the 1,000-point barrier when she did it in February of 1984. She finished her great career with 1,039 points, and, at the time of her induction, ranks seventh on the program's all-time scoring list.
