Clare Cavanaugh Wool
Class: Class of 1988
Sport: Tennis, Cross Country, Skiing, Lacrosse
Enshrined: Inducted October 19, 2002

Clare was an extremely talented and versatile student-athlete at Saint Michael's. She is one of the few students in College history to participate in four different varsity sports as an undergraduate! She raced for the nordic ski team and played for the tennis team for one season each, and ran cross country for two seasons. However, it was in the sport of lacrosse that Clare truly shined - she was a star among star-studded rosters. She missed her freshman season due to illness, but was third in team scoring as a sophomore, (25-2-27), and led the team in scoring as a junior (31-0-31) and senior (37-3-40). During her career, the Knights were a dominant program in the Northeast region of the country, posting an impressive 30-12 overall record for the span. A two-time team captain, she graduated as the program's all-time scoring leader (93-5-98). At the time of her induction, she ranks third on the all-time list, and is still the program's all-time goal scoring leader.

At the time of her induction, Clare has served at MTV as both the director and a consultant for national promotion and production events. As director she has been responsible for producing all of MTV's multi-camera productions and national promotional events. She has also been active in recruiting Saint Michael's graduates for internships at the company.

Additionally, Clare served on a professional panel that provided input on the Saint Michael's College athletic logo re-design project in 2000.

Clare has also been active in New York City with a yearly MS bike race, and has lent a hand to such charitable organizations as a September 11th fund for families affected by the terrorist attacks, Derek Jeter's "Turn 2" charity program, and the New York City Police Athletic League charity.
