Called "one of the College's greats" by the Burlington Daily
News in reference to his basketball prowess, but the compliment
also applies to his overall contributions to Saint Michael's. A
baseball and basketball standout as a student, he was ordained in
1926. Served the College for the next 54 years as an instructor and
administrator in both academics and athletics. As an innovative
member of the faculty, he created courses and majors in English,
Education, Latin, Speech, Sociology, and Theology, He coached
several sports in the early years of the College, and coached
basketball in the 1940's. Also served Saint Michael's as Treasurer
and Athletic Director during his tenure. Named a founder and life
member of the James Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in
Springfield, Mass.
