Lynda Dunn Johnson
Class of 1986
Cross Country, Nordic Skiing
Inducted September 20, 1997

Lynda ranks as one of the College's greatest two-sport athletes - excelling in two challenging pursuits. She was a four-year standout and two-time captain of the cross country team. At the time of her induction, she still held two prestigious records: most first-place finishes in a season (four in 1984), and fastest three-mile time (17:56, 9/19/83). She was the team's Rookie of the Year in 1982, and voted Most Valuable Runner in 1983 and 1984. As talented as she was running the trails, it was when they were snow covered that she truly excelled. Lynda was the College's top nordic skier for four years, serving as team captain twice. She played a significant role in SMC's EISA Division II Ski Championship team title in 1983, and then returned to the event two years later to win the individual Nordic Championship in 1985. A four-time EISA All-East selection, she kept her team among the top three in the East for her entire four-year career.
